That’s great to see. This is the kind of respect that fans like to see in motorsport.

Also, by technicality, it won’t be too long before they TECHNICALLY compete again...at January isn’t that far off, and the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship’s GT Daytona class will have two R8 LMSs and one Lexus (technically still Toyota) RC F GT3.

The respect between the LMP1 teams is a beautiful thing. They know that whether you win or loose you go through hell at Le Mans. Every year at Le Mans the winning team hosts the others after the race and the trade t-shirts and celebrate what every team achieved. I can’t think of anywhere else where that level of sportsmanship exists.

Well, Toyota Motorsport GmbH (hint, hint) is based in Cologne, Germany. Oh, yes and Toyota happens to be a Japanese company too! (Do they have any Italian drivers?)

Maybe expecting them to know about a WW2 song made famous by Dame Vera Lynn is going a bit too far. But that sticker was a very nice thing to do indeed.

Actually, it might be December, at the Sepang 12 Hours - there’s rumors that the Prius GT300 might show up, and JAF GT300 is already BOPed against GT3, of which there’s several Audi R8 LMSes...
